Designed for treating moderately to heavily exuding wounds, Proximel Ag bordered silicone foam dressings utilize an innovative five-layer design that improves patient comfort, reduces complications and tissue damage during removal, and creates an ideal healing environment.

How it Works

Proximel Ag bordered silicone foam dressings absorb exudate and evenly distribute pressure at the wound site through a five-layer system:

1. Silicone Wound Contact Layer and Border – silicone oil and perforation technology come in direct contact with the wound, allowing for straightforward application; won’t stick to the wound, thus providing nearly painless, atraumatic removal. Once applied, it allows the exudate to quickly migrate to the layers above for fast absorption. Perforated texture prevents tissue from growing into the dressing.
2. Absorbent Polyurethane Foam – cushioning protection, additional comfort, great fluid handling capabilities. Ionic silver provides antimicrobial effectiveness against a broad spectrum of key pathogens for over 7 days. 
3. Non-Woven Layer – spreads the exudate over a wide area, helping improve performance
4. Superabsorbent Core – draws in and holds onto exudate while reducing maceration risks
5.  Protective Backing – smooth and comfortable material, waterproof and a barrier to bacteria; promotes high moisture vapor transmission rates (MVTR)

How to Use Proximel Ag Silicone Foam Dressing with Border

1. Clean and dry the wound area per protocol prior to application.
2. Remove the release films and apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch. The dressing should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 1-2cm. 
3. The frequency of replacing the dressing depends on the patient’s condition and exudate level. Wear time is up to 7 days.
