5 Layers of Protection

1. Protective Backing – acts like a fluid and microbial barrier that keeps the wound moist and sterile; oxygen and water vapor are able to easily pass through due to its high moisture vapor transmission rate. The dressing conforms to the body and prevents friction. 
2. Super Absorbent Core – high fluid absorption capacity extends the dressing wear time. Fluid is locked into the core without leakage, even under compression. The fluid is held above the wound, creating a moist healing environment. 
3. Nonwoven Distribution Layer – fluid is distributed across the entire dressing, which maximizes the absorption capacity of the absorbent core. 
4. Polyurethane Foam – provides broad spectrum coverage and retains potency for a minimum of 7 days. This soft foam provides comfort and pressure relief to the wound during day-to-day activities. 
5. Silicone Wound Contact Layer – gentle and secure hypoallergenic silicone adhesive provides a pain-free, atraumatic removal by sticking to the surrounding skin, but not to the wound bed. This layer helps prevent Medical Adhesive Related Skin Injury (MARSI) and secondary damage.
