ConvaFoam Non-Adhesive Hydrofiber Foam Dressing
ConvaFoam Non-Adhesive Hydrofiber Foam Dressings contain a soft, multi-layered absorbent central pad with superabsorbent fibers and polyurethane foam and a Hydrofiber (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) wound contact layer. The pad absorbs and retains moisture, exudate, and bacteria to mirror the wound surface, reducing lateral spread and helping prevent maceration, even under compression. This action creates a moist healing environment conducive to healing and allows the dressing to be used on a spectrum of wound types at any stage of wound healing.

- Polyurethane Film – showerproof, breather outer layer which acts as a bacterial and viral barrier; aids in the management of moisture vapor transmission. Superabsorbent fibers increase the fluid handling capacity and patterned film allows for exudate monitoring within the dressing to maximize wear times.
- Hydrofiber Absorbent Core – gels on contact with wound exudate to maintain a moist wound environment, vertically wicking to reduce maceration, and micro-contouring to minimize dead space where bacteria can proliferate. This technology allows the supported removal of sloughy tissue and shows clear signs of granulation tissue formation.
- Silicone Border – enhanced silicone with skin-friendly adhesion that is repositionable upon application to avoid wasted dressing changes

How to Use ConvaFoam Non-Adhesive Hydrofiber Foam Dressing
- Ensure the skin surrounding the wound is free from creams and moisturizers which could prevent the dressing from sticking. Before applying the dressing, cleanse with a suitable wound cleanser and dry the surrounding skin. If a moisture barrier is required, select a spray or liquid that will dry before dressing application.
- Choose an appropriate dressing size where the central absorbent pad is at least 1cm larger than the wound. Dressings can be cut to fit. If applying to intact skin, choose a dressing which covers the entire vulnerable area.
- Remove the dressing from the sterile pouch. Remove the release liner and try to avoid touching the adhesive surface. Hold dressing over the wound or area of skin to be protected. Ensure not to stretch the dressing during application.
- Smooth down the adhesive border. Ensure joints are sufficiently flexed to allow patient mobility.
- Use additional tape or film dressing to create a seal.
- ConvaFoam dressings can be worn for up to 7 days, dressings should be changed earlier if clinically indicated. It is safe to use ConvaFoam dressings for as long as clinically indicated.
Contraindications, Warnings, and Precautions
- ConvaFoam dressings are not compatible with oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or hypochlorite solutions.
- ConvaFoam Non-Adhesive dressings are for single use only. Do not reuse. Reuse may lead to increased risk of infection, cross-contamination, and delayed healing.
- ConvaFoam dressings should not be submerged during bathing or swimming.
- Consult a health care professional if any of the following are observed: irritation (reddening, inflammation), maceration (whitening of skin), hyper-granulation (excess tissue formation), sensitivity or allergic reaction, signs of infection occur (increased pain, bleeding, wound drainage), changes in wound color and/or odor, increase in wound size, wound not showing signs of healing.
