The StatLock PICC Plus Stabilization Device is a post-and-door design that can accommodate the suture wings of virtually all peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and is available in adult, pediatric and neonatal sizes.

Prep

For effective application of the StatLock stabilization device, it is essential to thoroughly cleanse the insertion site with alcohol or chlorhexidine prep, ensuring both sides are covered, including the securement area.

The manufacturer recommends using the skin prep pad provided with the StatLock device, as it creates an acrylic layer that safeguards the skin and promotes better adherence of the anchor pad. Employing both these steps will optimize the performance of the product.

When using the skin prep pad, allow it to dry for 10 to 15 seconds, ensuring it becomes smooth to the touch and not tacky. Consider the patient’s skin condition and exercise clinical judgment accordingly. Please keep in mind that the absence of skin prep may result in premature lifting of the StatLock stabilization device
