The CeraPlus Soft Convex Cut-To-Fit One-Piece Drainable Pouch with Filter utilizes ceramide-infused Remois technology. Designed to replenish the skin’s hydration, this ostomy system works to reduce damage and erosion and subsequent transepidermal water loss (TEWL) in the skin surrounding the stoma.

Why Ceramides?

Made of lipid molecules, ceramides are integral to human skin construction, connecting the epidermis to create a protective barrier against the elements. In the process, they work to reduce water loss, which can speed up dryness and skin damage. For the peristomal area, the barrier and exposure to bodily fluids can irritate and damage the surrounding skin, leading to adhesion problems and decreasing the patient’s comfort.

How to Use Ceraplus Soft Convex Cut-To-Fit One-piece Drainable Pouch with Filter and Lock ‘n Roll Closure & Extended Wear Barrier

1. Clean the skin with water or with gentle soap as recommended by your healthcare professional. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use oils, powder, lotion, or lotion-type soaps on the skin.
2. Measure the stoma using a stoma measuring guide. Trace the determined barrier size opening onto the skin barrier. The skin barrier should fit where the skin and stoma meet. Verify that no skin is showing between the skin barrier and the stoma to help prevent leakage and skin irritation.
3. Using small, curved scissors, carefully cut an opening in the skin barrier to match the pattern. Do not cut beyond the line on the release liner. Do not puncture the pouch.
4. Remove the release liner from the skin barrier.
5. Center the skin barrier opening over the stoma. Apply gentle pressure to the skin barrier for about a minute for best adhesion.
6. Close the bottom of the pouch.
7. To remove, carefully lift an edge of the adhesive and peel downward, gently pushing the skin away from the skin barrier. Properly dispose of used pouch. Do not flush down toilet.
