Join Nikki for a close look at ColActive® PLUS collagen dressings.
ColActive® PLUS collagen dressings are made from a patented blend of Collagen, EDTA (ethylenediaminetetracetic acid), Alginate and CMC (carboxymethylcellulose).
This unique formulation:
– lowers select excess MMP activity better than the leading competitive collagen dressing
– maintains wound pH levels that do not harm growth factors, plasma proteins and other cell types that are required for wound healing
– contains EDTA, which has shown to be a potent inhibitor of biofilm formation and disruptor of mature biofilms
– is a fish-derived collagen source, making it acceptable for many cultures and religions
ColActive® PLUS Ag provides additional benefits of 5% ionic silver in the formulation, providing broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.
How does it work?
– ColActive® PLUS and ColActive® PLUS Ag are Collagen dressings that act as a sacrificial substrate that attracts harmful excess MMP’s from the wound.
– EDTA is a metal-chelator that deactivates MMPs by binding with zinc ions and has also shown to be a potent inhibitor of biofilm formation and disruptor of mature biofilms
– Alginate and CMC work together to optimally maintain a moist wound environment that allows the product to transform to a soft gel, absorbing up to 20 times its weight in wound drainage.
– ColActive® PLUS Ag’s 5% ionic silver acts as a potent antimicrobial agent.
