Cutimed® Sorbact® Wound Contact Layer is a hydrophobic bacteria binding wound dressing, based on Sorbact® Technology. The green Sorbact® wound contact layer allows passage of wound exudate into a secondary dressing.

Intended Purpose
Indications: Cutimed® Sorbact® Wound Contact Layer is indicated for use in the management of exudating partial to full thickness wounds (including clean, contaminated, colonized or infected wounds): post-operative wounds, trauma wounds, shallow cavity wounds, pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, and venous leg ulcers. Cutimed® Sorbact® Wound Contact Layer can be used on both superficial and deep wounds.
Wear time: Should the clinical condition allow, the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days.

Sorbact® Technology dressings irreversibly bind and remove adhered hydrophobic bacteria, without the release of active agents to the wound. Development of bacterial resistance is not expected.
Effective against most common resistant pathogens
In vitro tests show that Sorbact® Technology dressings are able to inhibit the growth of the Top 5 WHO pathogens.
Can be cut to suitable size and shape
Cutimed® Sorbact® Wound Contact Layer is easy to cut to any size and custom shape to adapt to your needs, making it suitable for many wound types.
How to use
1. Prepare the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical practice.
2. Select an appropriate dressing size for the wound. The dressing may overlap the wound margins if needed.
3. Remove the dressing from the pouch using an aseptic technique.
4. If the dressing is cut, use an aseptic technique. Discard any open and unused dressing.
5. Direct wound contact is a prerequisite for the effective hydrophobic binding of microorganisms. Always apply the dressings in a way that ensures direct contact with the wound surface.
For use in cavity wounds, unfold and gently fluff up one or more dressings and line/fill the cavity. Avoid dense packing.
6. Apply an appropriate secondary dressing.
7. The dressing change frequency depends on exudate levels and the overall condition of the wound and surrounding skin. Depending on the clinical condition, the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days.
How to remove
Should the dressing adhere to the wound, moisten or soak the dressing to assist removal and avoid disruption of the healing wound.
