Hydrofera Blue COMFORTCEL ® Antibacterial Foam Dressings
Hydrofera Blue COMFORTCEL® is a soft PVA foam that is designed for patient comfort during dressing changes. These dressings minimize adherence to the wound bed and have excellent wet tensile strength for easy removal from packed tunnels, undermining, and deep wounds.
Hydrofera Blue COMFORTCEL® dressings are pre-moistened and ready to use. These antibacterial foam dressings continuously wick bacteria laden exudate into the foam and away from the wound surface. The combination of the methylene blue and gentian violet pigments provides broad-spectrum antibacterial protection, reducing bioburden while not inhibiting growth factors. This non-cytotoxic dressing facilitates autolytic debridement, is highly absorbent, and supports healthy granulation tissue formation.
Mode of Action
With Hydrofera Blue® antibacterial foam dressings, the mode of action happens within the dressing itself, ensuring infection control without releasing active substances into the wound bed.
Made from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) foam, Hydrofera Blue COMFORTCEL® dressings are infused with two organic antibacterial pigments – gentian violet and methylene blue – which provide non-cytotoxic protection and help to pull harmful bacteria, slough, and exudate from the wound surface.
These absorptive dressings manage exudate, reduces bacterial colonization, and do not inhibit growth factors, making it effective in all phases of the wound healing process.
All Hydrofera Blue® dressings are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms (gram-negative, gram-positive and yeast) commonly found in wounds.
