Hydrofera Blue TRANSFER® Antibacterial Foam Dressings
Hydrofera Blue TRANSFER® antibacterial foam dressings tackle wounds with higher exudate, managing absorption of the secretions while maintaining a moist wound bed. This dressing transfers exudate away from the wound into a secondary dressing.
The exudate uptake within the dressing allows for the reduction for the potential risk of skin maceration by protecting the edges of the wound. Made with Polyurethane (PU) foam and the combination of methylene blue and gentian violet pigments, the dressings provide broad-spectrum antibacterial protection, which reduces bioburden while not inhibiting growth factors. No hydration is required before applying, and the dressing can stay on for up to 7 days, depending on the clinical conditions of the wound.
Mode of Action
With Hydrofera Blue® antibacterial foam dressings, the mode of action happens within the dressing itself, ensuring infection control without releasing active substances into the wound bed.
Made from polyurethane (PU) foam, Hydrofera Blue TRANSFER® dressings are infused with two organic antibacterial pigments – gentian violet and methylene blue – which provide non-cytotoxic protection and help to pull harmful bacteria, slough, and exudate from the wound surface.
These absorptive dressings manage exudate, reduces bacterial colonization, and do not inhibit growth factors, making it effective in all phases of the wound healing process.
All Hydrofera Blue® dressings are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms (gram-negative, gram-positive and yeast) commonly found in wounds.
