PhaseOne is a wound cleanser that disrupts biofilm in solution, killing bacteria and fungi then neutralizing resulting toxins. Formulated as a pure concentration of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and made without the toxic bleach and other preservative chemicals found in other products, it is gentle and non-irritating to skin and new tissue. A unique characteristic of PhaseOne is its broad clinical application. The goal of PhaseOne is to enhance the human body’s already highly effective innate immune system.

Wound wash is a sterile liquid saline solution that is made up of distilled water and sodium chloride. For an open wound, you should use wound wash at least once a day. Some wounds are recommended to be cleaned more often, such as piercings which are recommended to be washed 2-3 times a day.
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and maturation. Hemostasis is right after a wound appears, when the blood vessels are damaged and constrict in order to stop the blood flow and prevent blood loss. Platelets are released, coagulating with fibrin at the wound. This forms a blood cloth that keeps the blood vessels sealed. This phases can last an upwards of 2 days. Keep the wound covered. Next is inflammation. Inflammation is a biological process where the blood vessels dilate after hemostasis. This helps prevent infections throughout the healing process. The skin will swell, turn red, be hot to the touch, and be sore. This phases lasts about 6 days or more. Phase 3 is proliferation which is the beginning of granulation tissues. New connective tissues and blood vessels are designed to replace those that have been damaged. This appears as pink or red and indicates that the wound is healing properly. This phase can continue for over two weeks. Finally, maturation is the final phase. This phase can last for about 2 years as the wound is fully sealed off. This may result in a scar.
Wounds heal faster when covered as they need moisture to heal. Leaving a wound uncovered can slow the healing process. For most wounds, you can stop covering after about 5 days. Keeping a wound covered makes you less likely to develop a scab which decreases your chances of scarring.
