Designed for treating moderately to heavily exuding wounds, Proximel Basic bordered adhesive polyurethane foam dressings utilize an innovative three-layer design that improves patient comfort, secures dressings in place, and creates an ideal healing environment. It may also be lifted or repositioned without the risk of leakage or loosening, while small perforations in the absorptive pad reduce risks of in-growth. The foam layer of Proximel evenly distributes fluid across the dressing to help prevent maceration of the skin, while providing a waterproof barrier that seals out bacteria and contaminants.

How it Works

Proximel Basic bordered adhesive polyurethane foam dressings absorb exudate and provide optimal moisture environment to the wound site through a three-layer system:

1. Absorbent polyurethane foam: cushioning protection that provides additional comfort while offering great fluid handling capabilities.
2. Polyacrylate adhesive contact layer: soft yet strong nonwoven material prevents curling and allowing for straightforward secure application.
3. Protective backing: smooth and comfortable material that is waterproof and a barrier to bacteria while promoting high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR).

How to Use Proximel Basic Border Foam Dressing

1. Clean and dry the wound area per protocol prior to application.
2. Select the appropriate dressing size according to the wound. Note that dressing can be cut to size if necessary. The dressing should overlap the dry surrounding sky at least 1-2cm.
3. Remove the release films and apply the adherent side to the wound. Do not stretch. 
4. The frequency of replacing the dressing depends on the patient’s condition and exudate level. Wear time is no more than 7 days.
