Solventum (Formerly 3M) Kerramax Care encompasses a line of highly absorbent wound dressings designed to draw in wound exudate through an innovative wicking layer, offering a mix of horizontal and vertical action. This design uses the dressing’s full surface area to absorb and hold onto wound fluid and any bacteria and MMPs, and conforms to the shape of the wound bed. As a result, the wound continues to heal, rather than stall or experience an infection.
How Do Kerramax Dressings Work?
Designed to conform to a range of wound types and shapes, Kerramax Care Gentle Border dressings improve healing through a multi-layer design:
- Comforts – soft, non-woven material on both sides helps to provide comfort for the patient, along with excellent transpiration
- Wicks – horizontal and vertical wicking layer effectively increases capacity by distributing both thin and thick exudate throughout the dressing
- Absorbs and Locks – super-absorbent core locks in exudate, bacteria, and MMPs to reduce the risk of maceration and wound complications – even under compression. Stackable to increase absorption for very wet wounds.
- Protects – soft and flexible, heat-sealed border helps to prevent leakage so the patient remains clean and comfortable for longer periods

How to Use KerraMax Care Gentle Border Super-Absorbent Dressing
Cleanse the wound according to your standard practices and guidelines.
Select the appropriate dressing size. The pad needs to overlap the edge of the wound. Do not cut the dressing to fit.
Open the dressing pack and lay the sterile pad onto the wound. Either side may be used. You can stack KerraMax Care Super-Absorbent Dressings on top of each other for additional absorption for heavy exudate.
Inspect the dressing at regular intervals and change when the dressing it saturated. Change every 7 days otherwise.
This product is part of Solventum’s (Formerly 3M) comprehensive plan for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) and venous leg ulcers (VLU). Maintaining an optimal wound environment is an essential element in treating these often-stubborn conditions. This is done primarily through exudate management, providing protection from outside contaminates, and enabling easy application and removal.
