What is Coloplast Ostomy Paste?

Coloplast Ostomy Paste is a product designed to fill deeper cavities and folds around the stoma, creating a tight seal between the skin and the ostomy barrier. This helps to prevent leakage and provides extra security. The paste is easy to apply directly to the skin or the adhesive barrier and comes with a rolling key for easy use, especially for people with weaker hands or fingers.

How to Use Coloplast Ostomy Paste:

1. Clean and Dry the Skin: Ensure the skin around your stoma is clean, dry, and free of any oils or lotions. This helps the paste adhere better.
2. Prepare the Paste: Remove the cap from the Coloplast Ostomy Paste tube. If it’s your first time using it, you might need to pierce the seal with the cap.
3. Apply the Paste: Squeeze a small amount of paste onto the skin around your stoma or directly onto the adhesive barrier. Use it to fill any gaps, creases, or uneven areas to create a smooth surface.
4. Spread Evenly: Use your finger or an applicator to spread the paste evenly around the stoma or on the adhesive barrier. Be careful not to apply too much paste, as it can affect the adhesive properties.
5. Allow to Set: Let the paste set for a few moments to become tacky before applying your ostomy appliance.
6. Attach the Ostomy Appliance: Carefully place the ostomy barrier and pouch over the stoma, pressing down firmly to ensure a secure seal. Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
7. Check the Seal: Gently press around the edges to ensure there is a good seal between the paste and the skin or barrier.
