This polyurethane (PU) foam dressing, with its intuitive shape and key-hole opening, allows for precise placement and ease of application around tracheostomy tubes and other tube sites. It absorbs and retains exudate within the dressing and offers a broad spectrum of antibacterial protection.
Hydrofera Blue READY® Tube Site Dressings are antibacterial foam dressings that maintain a moist wound healing environment without the need for hydration. Featuring a waterproof and breathable cover film and a pre-cut key-hole opening, the Tube Site Dressings are individually wrapped and ready to be used. These dressings are sterile, safe, and non-cytotoxic.
Mode of Action
With Hydrofera Blue® antibacterial foam dressings, the mode of action happens within the dressing itself, ensuring infection control without releasing active substances into the wound bed.
Made from polyurethane (PU) foam, Hydrofera Blue READY® Tube Site Dressings are infused with two organic antibacterial pigments – gentian violet and methylene blue – which provide non-cytotoxic protection and help to pull harmful bacteria, slough, and exudate from the wound surface.
These absorptive dressings manage exudate, reduces bacterial colonization, and do not inhibit growth factors, making it effective in all phases of the wound healing process.
All Hydrofera Blue® dressings are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms (gram-negative, gram-positive and yeast) commonly found in wounds.
