How Microcyn® Skin and Wound HydroGel Works

Proprietary, patented Microcyn® technology starts with electrically charged oxychlorine molecules. Hypochlorous acid mirrors the substance the body’s immune system generates to eliminate foreign pathogens.

What results is a pH-neutral wound cleansing agent made with Performance Stabilized HOCl™. This non-toxic, non-sensitizing solution doesn’t foam or have an oily consistency, and is free of steroids and antibiotics.

Microcyn Hydrogel Features

Upon application, this antibacterial wound care solution:

  • Starts to dismantle biofilms within 30 seconds.
  • Helps lessen any itchy sensation within the first 24 hours.
  • Creates a moist wound healing environment.
  • Performs even in the presence of exudate, blood and damaged tissue.
  • Aids in autolytic debridement.
  • Won’t stain.
  • Is noncytotoxic to granulation tissue.
  • Can be applied to uneven and difficult-to-access areas and through all stages of wound healing.
  • Offers an 18-month shelf life.

Using Microcyn® Skin and Wound HydroGel

Microcyn® Skin and Wound HydroGel is a no-rinse solution for wound bed preparation, including cleansing and debriding wound and peri-wound tissue in healthcare and home-care settings.

To use, apply Microcyn® directly to a dressing, which can then be placed on the wound bed. The dressing should be moistened periodically with Microcyn® until it needs to be changed.

Microcyn® Skin and Wound Care solution can be used on:

  • Stage I-IV pressure ulcers
  • Partial- and full-thickness wounds
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Postsurgical wounds
  • First- and second-degree burns
  • Grafted and donor sites
