Help your catheter remain in place during daily wear with the StayFIX® fixation device. Designed for percutaneous, non-vascular catheters, StayFIX® offers a convenient, needle-free solution against migration and accidental removal that improves your quality of life. For comfort, non-invasive construction helps reduce sharps-related injuries and the need for sutures.
As well, the StayFIX® can easily be applied by the patient and be worn for up to seven days.
How the StayFIX® Catheter Fixation Device Works
Medical-grade adhesives ensure a secure hold against the skin, which prevents the catheter from detaching and limits the incidence of unpleasant issues and complications.
Water-resistant, flexible hydrocolloid material works to limit leakage and prevent the tubing from moving. StayFIX® stretches and adjusts to your body without causing the catheter to detach, ensures you have a full range of movement and reduces potential infections. The fixation device can be worn in the shower and lasts longer than comparable systems.
Explain why the product is unique, what problem it solves, and how it compares to similar products on the market. Also, explain how the product can be used, and if relevant, what results the customer can expect.
To Use the StayFIX® Catheter Fixation Device
Catheter securement plays an important role in preventing complications and infection. Evidence suggests that securement devices may be associated with a lower risk of entry/exit-site infections and failed catheter securement when compared with dressings. Securement devices provide better securement in minimizing catheter movement and kinking to maximize catheter stabilization, which is likely leading to lower entry/exist site infections and failure rate.
To apply the StayFix Fixation Device: Start with a clean, dry skin surface. Remove device from sterile packaging. Align the slit with the catheter or tube. Slide the slit around catheter or tube until catheter or tube is positioned in hole against the blue foam. Peel off paper backing and and adhere StayFix to skin. Peel off paper backing from blue foam and gently bend the catheter into the blue foam channel. Fold adhesive tab over catheter or tube to secure catheter or tube.
The Stayfix should be changed after seven days, or sooner if the device becomes loose for any reason.
The benefits of a catheter fixation device include: increased comfort and peace of mind, reduced internal trauma to bladder and urethra, risk of inadvertent migration of balloon from bladder into urethra, and reduced risk of infection.
